I need a sick day....

Greetings,

It has been a slow blog week (well for writing anyway, not for reading). We are sick. It seems like everyone we knew got sick over the holidays. A horrible, never ending, flu/cold, "take me in the back yard and just shoot me" sick. I was very smug as my family celebrated, opened presents and skied.

I consider myself chastised.

This thing will NOT go away. It is only violent for about 6 hours at a time and then it eases up. Just enough for you to think that you might be getting better. Then it is back in its full fury. The symptoms are not the same either. We have a rotating panel of illnesses here. Between the four of us we have had everything you can think of, but none at the same time.

Before I beg someone to take me in the backyard and shoot me, I better go and try to put some type of nourishment into my children's bodies. Those frozen waffles aren't going to make themselves.

See you soon!

Oh, Bek! Death flu is the devil. I'm so sorry. Hang in there. Atleast there are vitamins in frozen waffles...right? Maybe?

Bird Flu? West Nile Virus? Mocking Devil disease? What ever it is I think it has found its way to Texas. I've never seen so much re-occuring sickness in my family before.

More often than not the symptoms vary as well.

I think we need to figure out who we mutually have met that passed this onto us so we can take him/her out back and shoot them.

We caught the nasties here at our house last week and over the weekend too. My only relief was that if seemed to pass from one person to the next fairly quickly. . .instead of the usual someone's sick, then better for a few days, then someone else. . .Yuck.

And hey, I hope those waffles have lots of vitamins in 'em. That's what I ate when I was sick. . .HMM, maybe something is in our EGGOS??

Feel better soon. I know it's not at all the same, but consider yourself the recipient of some virtual homemade chicken soup...

(I hope your kids go back to normal when they recover. My six-year-old son had something nasty for several days and although he is physically better he is still emotionally sick. We call it the "whiny mouth flu." I can't wait for him to get over that!)

The four of you? Remember me? *cough* *cough*.

Make that five. Though...I'm giving the evil eye to all of you who I might have caught it from.

I will say...it's quite a trip to be awoken in the wee hours of the morning by Lauren yelling "MOM! I HAVE DIARRHEA AGAIN!".

Ah...good times.

TMI Kate.....

I acutally had to host a baby shower last night. My husband wasn't home and neither was my live in slave. :-) Luckily, I was co hosting and was only providing the place. I just opened the door and hid for the whole night.

This morning I am worse but the kids are better. I am sending Lauren to school NO MATTER WHAT tomorrow b/c if I don't, I am not responsible for my actions.

uguugggghhhhh.

Thanks for the nice words everyone.

How sad is it that I keep thinking to myself "I haven't eaten in 4 days...maybe I lost some weight?" I have to get something positive from this.

Feel better! I do that "I wonder how many lbs I lost that hour" when I get that sick, too. SOMEthing good can come out of being that sick, right?! :)

I hit my target weight last year from strep. I'm sorry to say that only lasted one day. There definitely SHOULD be benefits from feeling that lousy so long. Get well!

Thanks! I am glad to know that I am not the only one that hopes a nice bout of the stomach flu will kick start the diet.

I don't own a scale so I will just pretend I lost weight.

Feeling human again today.....

I think we're nearly done with the evil, rancous flu... I hope. I always forget how lucky I am to be healthy...until I get diseased...

Good luck... and see you at the end.
