Merry Christmas...

All I want for Christmas this year is for BOTH of my children to smile at the same time!!!
I realize that when I put up pictures they always look something like this:

Everyone is smiling...clothes are mostly in order....
The reality is that most of our time is spent with them doing this:

Merry Christmas Everyone!!! We are going skiing for a few days so I will not be back until the New Year. I wish everyone happiness, health and joy in 2006!!

There is an unspoken law that states no matter when the photo is being taken, any parent with more than one child will never be able to get all the children smiling and looking at the camera at the same time (long enough to take the picture).

Once we have the majority smiling, we're done.

I am a photographer, specializing in children!! I have a rule that I will do the sitting as many times as it takes. Lets just say I am getting good at cutting and pasteting heads on Photoshop...

Power to the patient photographer! Perhaps my wife and I give up too soon. Unfortunately, our oldest never smiles anymore in front of a camera anyway. In second grade the school photographer told her not to smile so she wouldn't look like a monster(she was missing some baby teeth...like so many other second graders) and she hasn't given a full smile for a photo since then....but I guess that is another can of worms in of itself.

Amen to photoshop. . .see my latest post about that!! Loved your christmas card picture, that was awfully close to having two smiles. Jacob's was kind of a smirk, which counts in my book!!

Speaking of christmas card photos....your girls are STUNNING. Did your SIL do those? I hope you have huge pictures of them all over your house!!

Smirking Jacob....that is true. That was taken at my SIL's wedding. One of the few times I was not taking pictures.
