Not her first time being a flower girl,
but this IS the first time she got gold sequined shoes!
His first tie. What a BIG boy! This is just after his first birthday......

Thank you!!

It is nice to have pictures like this around. We were at a wedding, so we all looked pretty good. Most of the time they are covered in one or more of the following substances....snot, paint, cheerios, anything they can dig out of the garbage (my son is OBSESSED with our garbage can), marker, butter, frosting.....you get the idea. I have to remind myself that there are cute little kiddos under all that grime.

Thanks! I will always take compliments about my kids. :-)

Lucky lulu. I still hanker after a pair of silver shoes. I need to figure out an event in my life when I can get and wear some!

Such cute kids! I looked at the pictures with my 10-year-old daughter looking over my shoulder (waiting to IM her friends, already...) and she thinks Jacob should marry her cousin Sadie and she wants to know how old Lauren is to see if she's of an appropriate age to marry Sadie's big brother, Jake. I thought it was kind of funny Lindsay was marrying off her cousin and not her brother, but then her brother (age 6) has been betrothed to the girl around the corner for about a year now.

betrothed much to my daughter's (age 5) dismay. She may put up a fight yet, however.

How could any old codger resist such a darling thing as Lauren?

And an occasion to wear sparkly shoes? Got one: Opening day of a move like Princess Diaries or some princess show. Take a couple of little girls in princess dresses. I took my daughters and I even wore a tiara to match my sequined shoes!

Lorien--you are the coolest mom EVER!! I actually let her wear the shoes to church. Why not? Lauren would fall over and die if I told her she could wear a crown to a movie.....not that I would mind, it is just that I would have the fight the battle again every time she wanted to wear it to school. Come on, Cyndi--you wish you could wear a crown to the grocery store..

Compulsive--marrying off the cousins....funny. Tell her that I will marry him off to the first person who promises to let me have the grandkids at least half the year!!! :-)

I put pictures up on this a lot because my family all lives in Utah. This is the best way for them to see the kiddo-s. I know it seems like a bit of overkill.....

Oh, forgot to mention...you have to do your hair in an up-do to go with the tiara. I have a friend who went through a tiara phase and she and I both wore one. It was Princess Diaries 2. And my daughter (5 yrs) spends half her time in princess clothes. When I tell her to go get dressed up because we are going to a party or to the church on a weekday or something, she dissappears for a bit and then out she comes as Belle or Aurora. Sometimes I make her change if its something really important.

Beautiful pictures of beautiful children both, Bek. the personalities come through.

Lorien, I am the same way w/ Lauren. She went through a phase where she insisted on wearing these stuffed devil ears. The only place I made her take them off is church. Lauren wore a dress up from the Princess and the Pauper to my SIL's wedding shower. Oh well!! I am getting ready to pass along all the dress ups to Phoebe Clark. Sigh, I will miss that phase, but I know Phoebe will LOVE them.

Hi Mother of all, it was good to see you Sunday. I can't wait to have your baby in my Sunbeam class. :-)

Hey- I found you through Carina who I found through Rachel (I know- my husband is in law school and I never see him- I've got a lot of free time) ANYWAY- what fabulous pictures of your babies! I have to know where you got your son's tie- I have a 21-month-old and I'm trying to find him a tie for Christmas and have had no luck whatsoever. Please help!

Bek said...

Sure!!

I was going to my sister in law's wedding and was shopping for my daughter. I wandered over to the big boy section (not the section that has the clothes for toddlers) and this tie was there. Oh, it was at Nordstrom. It was the only one like it, so it might have been misplaced. It has a little zipper thing that lets you tighten it. Very cool. The brand was Perry Ellis. Good Luck!!

P.S. I never go to Nordstrom, I don't know why thought. The shoes I got my daughter (the gold ones) and the tie were each under 20$...I should go more. :-)

Darn. I tried Nordstrom already- the only toddler-sized one I found was a pink striped one that my husband would never go for. The sales guy wasn't very helpful though- and they were pretty busy, so maybe I'll give it another shot. Thanks for the info!

They also have them at The Children's Place for about $8. They fasten all the way around the neck (not clip on).
