Human again...

We are finally over the evil sickness. I see from other blogs that we have passed it along.

Oooops.

Not much has happened lately so I am going to take this opportunity to show you how cute my son's room is. I just so happen to have a very talented friend (well, I have many talented friends, but this one is at the top of the list). Her name is Oh, Judy and OOOHHH JJJUUUDDDYY did she set me up. This is the blanket that my son has recently decided is his security blanket. Thank goodness because the walls match it. :-)

I showed Oh, Judy what I had in mind and she made it happen in just a few hours. Here are a few pictures of the room.

About 10 minutes ago I went into Cubby's room to take this picture. This is how spoiled I am with him, he stood up, smiled for the camera and then I just tuned of the light and left him and he went right back to sleep. Sadly, this isn't the first time we have done this to him (wake him up--not take pictures. I use his closet to store my sewing stuff....)

I normally have toys on the shelves...I just finished painting them...

they were hot pink in their previous life in Lauren's room.

Thanks Judy......

P.S. She is available for other mural work, and she her prices are reasonable.......come on, you know you wanna..........

Nice template!
I like the room and the Cub. I am going to do a mural on Jooj's wall, but since Judy won't come to Meh-Hi-Ko then I will have to do it myself. I am thinking stick figures.

Jen,

First, you crack me up. Second, the mural that she did even I could have done (with a picture). She could even draw the things you want muralized on tracing paper and you could copy it on the wall...

I just wanted to have at least one room in my home look like I tried. (I am still bitter about having to live here...)

Did you see that one of the winning movies at Sundace was Qincetera...or however you spell that wicked party that 15 year old girls get. Maybe you can get some ideas for yours!

I love the room! It's so adorable. I'm hoping that when we get our new house (still looking) I'll be motivated enough to make it look nice. The kids rooms right now have an office decor. Lovely.

We did "office" for a long time. ANother popular one is "storage room" themed.

oh JUDY that girl is talented! I heard that she painted dots on her kids room when I just bought stickers. This means Oh Judy is going to heaven and short-cutters like me are not.

So CUTE.

The room looks great--I just love that shade of green, but I really loved the photos of your sweet baby, too!

Customizing bedrooms is a constant debate in our household. Having our first house (and no one to tell us we can't) adds a big incentive. However, we realize that we are only going to live here until I finish school and we worry about re-sale points of attraction/distraction

Nice mural though. Glad you were able to get it done.

Bek, I used WallCandy in El Guille's room.

p.s. LOVE the teething marks on the cribs.

Bek, that looks so great! And not just the template! Maybe Judy could get a job with Pottery Barn creating rooms for their mag??
p.s. glad the sickies are over.

Lyle...

I say customize away. You will have to repaint when you sell anyway. I realize that I live in an area where people do ANYTHING to get their house in shape to resell because the return is so high, but most places you will repaint and replace carpet if it is awful. All you are adding is one coat of primer....plus it is so fun!

Carina...I just saw the racing stripes...sweet!

Judy could SOOOOO have a job with PB (the design team is based in SF) but she should make her fortune recreating the rooms for those of us who can't afford it!

Decorating tip: find a drawing you like, put it on an overhead sheet--project it on the wall and voila! --you can have the size/drawing you want where you want it. I'm just sayin. . .

I'm glad you like the room--it was a great excuse to come see you and have some fun. I'll do JUST ABOUT anything for good food (still dreaming of that parm chicken, lemon vinagrette. . . yum yum!)

hey, that rocking chair is the same one I have (that I got at DI..) awesome...as for the painting, it looks darling! when did she do that?

Bek said...

I painted the "hills" but she did the rest when she came out to visit me over my birthday in mid November.

That rocking chair is what Derek bought right before Lauren was born. It has been chewed on and painted a million times (it changes color often). Now, it is enjoying its stint as white, but it is about to be painted hot pink and put in Lulu's room. :-) I can't stick with one color for too long!
