I just want to say that this is the most beautiful blog lately.
That truffle pig has some serious sparkle in those eyes- don't you wonder what he'll do with all that spirit? After he destroys exuberantly and at whim throughout childhood, I mean.
Im hoping he will harness his power for good and not evil!! If I had to choose one word to describe my son, it would be sparkly... that is the same word I would use for him mom.....
A truffle is a very expensive and very chi-chi mushroom that grows UNDERGROUND near the base of some tree (can't remember which one..). They are very expensive b/c they are so hard to find. There are acutally pigs that are trained to "sniff" out the truffles and dig them up. They have a highly sensitive sense of smell and can bee-line right to the truffle.
I call Jacob a truffle pig because he can sniff out the dangerous things in a room. It can be a whole room full of fun things to play with and he will find and play with the ONE straight pin that was left in the carpet after sewing. He can sniff it out and find it.....
Well...I clearly need some cooking classes at williams sonoma. Now when I watch Iron Chef ... I thought all that time Battali was putting chocolate on those dishes... and they were mushrooms.
No wonder you keep saying...harness his power for good. ;-)
Hippy hop, hippity hop. Will the Easter Bunny stop? Will he leave a treat behind, An Easter basket for me to find?
I'll look over here, I'll look over there, I'll look behind things, I'll look everywhere I'll look until I find my treat, And then I'll sit right down and eat.
I saw your comment at girl con queso about the name Rebecca. When I was in guides three out of the six girls in my patrol had the same first and middle name of Rebecca Louise, two of us were in school together! Since I've moved to Ireland my name is very unusual again.
I've been reading through your posts and your children are gorgeous.
I found your blog through CJane. You have such a funny, honest way of sharing your life. It's wonderful. AND I had to say that I instantly loved you because you share my love for Sting!

It is nice to see you here Miriam.
I just can't believe that that cute little boy in the pictures can chew his way through a bed tent. I just can't picture it.
I love the picture of him kissing the frog. So very cute!!
Ok...so I'm lame - what is a truffle pig? I'm just thinking a really novel chocolate....
Those lashes on that boy... are so sweet.

Go ahead and give it to your Flippin Sweet friend, too. I'd be happy to help.
Those eyes are just too beautiful!
Oh, almost forgot, I'm pretty sure truffles grow under oak trees.
ahh...oak trees. I knew someone would know...
His personality does jump right out of those pictures. I love the story of how he got his nick name.
That kid does have some serious sparkle going on.
That is one big stone frog.
You have also helped prove that kids will put their mouths on just about anything.
lyle, that isn't even the biggest one they have....
Yes, this was probably the cleanest thing he kissed that day...

He is, as always, a gorgeous boy! The girls look great, too-- love Norah's hair!
Good luck with your move. That sounds stressful.
He has the most beautiful eyelashes!!
your easter head is hilarious.
You are the first person who noticed... before I had a Queen Elizabeth costume.... no one saw it.....
I am trickly like that...
Those are the cutest pictures EVER! How do you stand it?
He's so flippin' cute! I wanna eat him on Easter.
Hippy hop, hippity hop.

Happy Easter!
He's so gorgeous. Tell me what you use to get Nori to sit still when you do her hair. I can't get Piper's hair under control AT ALL.
Hilarious. And so freaking cute.

How many little ladies are jealous of that toad? I am. :)
I was just thinking about your family today. Happy adoption day, Nori!
