I have a daughter..........

Its done....

I was amazing...........

We signed the papers today and it was the most wonderful, sweet experience. The baby 's grandparents wanted to meet us. We had a great visit..they are wonderful and intelligent and kind people. They took the letter we wrote to T and then she decided that SHE wanted to meet us. She wanted to give us the baby. T is a tiny (5 foot eve) thing, quite young and very soft and calm. We had a really good visit. I got to meet my daughter (who already has a little bit of sass and attitude) and the whole thing was very reverent and sweet. She is sure this is what she wants to do, her parents would be supportive either way.

She told us that she knows that God chose us as her family before we were even born. She was just the physical. That sounds so trite when I tell it, but she is a very smart, very religious girl who isn't ready to parent. The fact she wanted to meet us was amazing.

The little one is beautiful. Ton's of black hair. My first thought was that she looks like Jacob. :-) More details and pix later. We didn't stay at the hospital tonight, they wanted more time w/ the baby. We will bring her home tomorrow. We didn't even tell Lulu about this..I can't wait to see her face tomorrow.

I feel like I can finally breath again..... Utah folks......Lunch? Anyone? I will be stuck here for at least a week for the legal to clear..............

Over the moon! No, not you. Me! I'm skipping around the house!

Congratulations, felicidades...You're a new mommy. Lulu's a new big sister (even if she doesn't know it) and Jacob just became the middle child. And to the little girl whose just become a part of your family, welcome...Enjoy this week with just the baby, it's very tender and sweet that you have it before your reentry in to the mommy matrix.

What a mature birth mom! It amazes me that there can be such clarity and thoughtfulness in youth.

You know what I'm going to say, right? Read whatever old comment I made on past posts. Take pictures. That's my motto, I stick with it. Take pictures and share....

Ethiopia was actually NOT to throw people off track. We were pretty close to being done w/ the dossier but my husband wanted to wait until late summer to submit it. He made a comment when I got back from Africa that he was ready and so I made the call. In the meantime I just contacted an agency I knew of and told them we were officially back in the market, but only for a very specific type of situation. Three hours later we were matched.

We have been matched before and we were too nervous to get excited. We just kept plugging away w/ ethiopia and figured if she didn't sign, we weren't out anything and we would have submitted as planned the end of August....

So it was self preservation......I have more details coming later...

Wonderful news Bek. I'm so excited for you I can hardly stand it. I wish I was there in Utah these two weeks instead so I could see you too! Our paths will cross again I'm sure! Enjoy! I have a feeling Lulu will be just a LITTLE excited! Don't you love it when Heavenly Father takes care of the "specific situations" for you?

LET'S HAVE A BABY SHOWER IN UTAH!

We can do it at my house anytime next week --- let's get on the horn and plan, plan, plan for this EXCITING event (of the baby, not the shower, but that's exciting too). It could be open house so there isn't any scrambling of schedules and it can be peaceful.

SO EXCITED!!! LET'S PLAN!!!

Red,

I was thinking the same thing...NOT a babys shower (no gifts) but a big LETS MEET THE BABY party....your house? Really? I was going to beg Lisa....I think we should just have tons of food and visit. She is such a good baby and is the size of a hamster. Really. I am going to upload pix tonight..

Will you do pictures for me? Do you have access to a studio? I need some pix for bmamma before she leaves..........lets talk prices........

You deserve to have the ideal adoption situation. I'm so glad my brother was there! My parents are over the moon for you (they thought that was so funny that Chris was her doctor!)

I'm so excited to see your three little ones together!

Lisa,
Bek wrote me and said Tuesday at your house and anyone can bring a light summer dish to share if they so desire but you're only doing your famous Chicken Croissant Sandwiches. Call me so I can help (~j, Cathy and I will bring big dishes to share). I'll have my camera to take pics of everyone there.
