Where have you been?

If you haven't figured out by now, posting is sporadic at best. The good news is that I met with my designer today and the house is going to be AWESOME!! The bad news is that we are waaaay behind and we can't move back for another month. Yikes. It is hard to find time to post because the kids are up at the crack of dawn and all the work that I used to do at night while everyone is asleep is not getting done because I am asleep! Also, the computer is not in a place that I can access while Jacob is awake. The small (and getting smaller) quiet space I get during naps is filled with trying to put Grandma's house back together into an acceptable state. Thus, no blogging. No phone calls. No charity stuff. I feel like I am camping in a 5 star hotel. It is both frustrating and wonderful at the same time.

What have we been doing in the meantime?

Hanging out with Dad:

Keeping Jacob from taking the pool cues to this:

Keeping Norah from spitting up all over these:

Playing with Uncle Chris:

Swimming (first swim of the season):

Loosing teeth:

Officially becoming a family of five:

Basting the table:

Visiting with all the Utah cousin's:

Cousins: Will, Sara, Lulu, Nori, Thomas, Sam, Abigail, Wren, Lilly and Cubby

Oh, and I dropped a frozen lasagna on my toe, but miraculously didn't break it (finally, I DIDN'T break my toe...). I should be able to blog a bit more now, but just hang in there with me..... I am coming back, I promise.....

Cute pics Bek. Someone needs to upload more of those grandkid pics to their Ofoto account and send me an invite! I know there were more taken...

Thanks for the update!

Holy Antique Secretary Bek! I wouldn't sleep EVER knowing that a pool cue and that furniture could get to know each other.

Bek said...

Azucar,

What you can't see on that secretary is the hundreds of tiny frogs that have been collected over the years.... I haven't even gotten to the Ming vase, the original art, the other antique furniture, the priceless rugs, etc...

We lost one frog already.... gulp.

I am always running around with my arms out stretched when we are at my In laws or my parents house for fear that a child will break something. I couldn't imagine living there. You are a brave woman.

Very cute pictures.

Bek said...

Less brave than desperate.... ;-) Lucky for me, the inlaws are very relaxed about it and remember what it is like to have a bunch of little kids. They are pretty good about not freaking out when stuff gets broken.... it is more me trying to not let them go crazy....

But, it is a different sort of challenge...

Glad to see you back! You are a super hero if you are able to protect all that gorgeos expensive stuff from a 2 year old boy!

Congratulations on the finalization!!! When will the sealing be? So exciting!

The kids look really good, and I love the pictures you take. Good luck with the new house :)

I agree it's probably harder on you then them. . .

I can't say enough how much I love that first picture! I love how D and Norah are 'fuzzed-out'.

Just think. . .new kitchen. . new kitchen. . .new kitchen. . .you'll make it.

CONGRATULATIONS on the family of 5 status! I imagine that has to be a darn good feeling with a bit of paperwork behind it (?)

at least your in-laws remember what it's like to have a bunch of little kids. my own mother has managed to erase that from her memory...

you deserve an award. a big fat, Day (Week? Month?) at the Spa Award. 'nuf said.

Hey, Bek! I've missed you! Congrats on your family. That is great!

I was gasping when I saw all that fancy furniture. We decorate with furniture off the side of the road, so we don't care what our kids do to it--we can't tell if it was our kids or the previous owners. Ha! But when it comes to Grandma's....oh...not so good.

Congrats on the finalization!! Yay and cheers and hooray!

I totally understand the staying at the grandparents... I spend almost all of my time at my moms trying to keep Beanie from breaking something priceless and irreplaceable. Makes my stomach knot up just thinking about it!

Thanks for the update- I've missed you!

Yipee! On the official family status. I love the matching outfits. Looks like you've had a busy month. Can't wait to see ya!

I'll take sporadic blogging over none at all, anyday. Congrats on becoming "official". You have a darling family. Loved all the pictures. Good luck with this last month. I can empathize with you because we're moving in with my folks for about 6 weeks until we get our new place in Las Vegas. Although my parents don't have an antique secretary to protect...
Good luck.

Yay! We've missed you. And I'm with azĂșcar--the digs are great, but that looks like work! Love the toothless pic--my baby just lost the same tooth and I love a good toothless grin.

Congratulations on the finalization! I know that is a GREAT day! I gasped and held my breath when I saw the surroundings in your temporary abode.....sending sooo many prayers your way!

Glad that you were able to make it official. That is stupendous!

Yay, family of 5 officially! Any updates for us on those ovens? :)

Oh my. My kids would burn that house to the ground, I am sure.

So, wait, are you moving to Utah? Guess I better hustle my butt over to the coast to meet you and your cuties sometime.

And ... I love the finalization picture. I have one almost identical to it from Abe's finalization. Fun stuff!

Love the picture of Cubby basting the table! Only a little boy would think of doing that. No wait... when I was 5 I smeared margarine all over the linoleum floor in the kitchen. It was fun to slide across until my mom found out.

Bek, I've missed you! Ditto what everyone has already said: so happy about the adoption being finalized, so nervous about the furnishings. Your kids are so dang cute.

Awesome photos! I would be so paranoid with that funiture! I know the Hurricane would be in serious Category 5 mode.

I miss you Bek!! I think we may have been in Utah at the same time. Boo Hoo!! Guess that's what I get for never calling!! :) Congrats on Norah's adoption being finalized. And my in laws home looks a lot like yours, but we don't have a cubby to chase after. Hope all is going well. Hugs!!

Hey Bek,
If you know ANYONE in your area who needs a basic haircut, please let me know.

I have a sister in MOuntain View going to the Paul Mitchell Hair Academy in SF who is desperately looking for a volunteer for her 1st haircut.

Scary, perhaps, but I can vouch for her - she is very detail oriented (her day job is a CPA) and very dedicated to being a good hairstylist. She is just having a really hard time finding someone to volunteer.

I've missed you Bek! Congratulations on finalization! That was always such a great day next to the sealing day. :)

Hope you don't mind that I post.

I just found your blog from adoption.com and I just wanted to congratulate you on everything - the finalization, temple sealing, new home. Your situation is similar enough to mine that I felt like you were a kindred spirit on the opposite side of the country.

We just had our finalization, sealing, blessing ceremonies in April and are in the process of buying a home. We have two beautiful daughters who came to our home through adoption. We feel so blessed.

Anyway, congratulations.

Couldn't figure out a way to email you (I must be really tired), but just wanted you to know I was thinking of you, hoping that you and all your family are OK, and (maybe a bit selfishly) hoping that you'll be back soon to let us know what you've been up to!

Congratulations on officially becoming a family of 5!

My parent's house is also quite stressful for us to take our kids to as it is like a museum and coincidentally, they also collect frogs!
