Jacob is freakishly strong. It has been said before and it gets more true every day. He has a trick that he does to Lauren. He has been doing it since he could walk. Even as a one year old he could literally take Lauren to the ground. He has a low center of gravity, he is strong and Lauren hasn't quite figured out how to fight back yet beyone shrieking for one of us.
I finally caught the elusive "Jacob takedown" on film.
First he comes up from behind her and wraps his arms around her waist. The first few times he did this Lulu thought he was giving her a hug. Umm. No.
Then he hooks his leg around her front leg and pulls it out from under her
Finally he drops his weight and just pulls her down with him. Sometimes he ends up on the top (which is fine for him b/c he can get away faster)
Other times he ends up on the bottom. No problem. He just pulls her hair until she flips him over and he is on top AND THEN he runs away.
There is no point to this exercise. He is not trying to get something from her. He is like a lion in the grass that waits for his prey. Poor Lauren HATES this (who can blame her?). We need to teach our girl how to defend herself. Also, note that he has an enormous smile on his face the WHOLE time.....and she is crying the whole time. My friends, that is what I am learning the difference between boys and girls is.

And that is why I love him more each day. Get him into the Lucha Libre.
Hilarious! Oscar (my youngest) is constantly teasing his older brother to the point of tears. I finally told Henry to start acting like the bigger brother and not let the little guy push him around. Did I actually tell my 5-year-old to TRY to beat up his little brother?
I know why he's doing it. Because he wants to protect his sister. See, she's not dressing modestly and he recognizes that. All he's doing is what any brother SHOULD when his sister is 1/2 nekid. I applaud Cubby for his swift thinking ;o) LOL I love the play-by-play.
I smell an Olympic gold medal in Roman free style.
Jacob is one smart kid. He's a middle child now. He's got to get some attention any way he can.
That kid has a future, I'm tellin you.
the only way i got Lucas to stop attacking everyone in the house was to schedule daily fights with dad.....
and yes, he still smiles the entire time too
Poor Lauren, to have to go through this torture all the while knowing you are just standing there doing NOTHING but take pictures of her misery :) The girl will be scarred for life... oh well. Therapists need work too. :)
Jacob sounds like such a character!
Betina,
You have a point there. Half the time she thinks it is fun and the other half, not so much. This particular time she was laughing and was playing along so it isn't as bad as it seems. The phrase I hear out of the mouths of both of my kids at least 10 times a day "Quick mom, take a picture!!" or in JJ talk "cheese mom, cheese".
I'm sorry for Lauren, but that is one of the funniest things I have ever seen. She is a good sport but you are great for catching the whole thing on film.
I think we'll be seeing him in the Olympics one of these days...
One day Jacob will rule the world.
Wow. What a classic thing to catch on film!
S read this and laughed and laughed!
