Vegas Baby....

Why wear just one tutu, when two is better?

Lu and I are crashing in Daddy-o's hotel room for the next few days in Las Vegas. This is a trip that we have been promising Lu for a long time. When she was little she was obsessed with the music from "Mamma Mia". She knew all the words. We promised her that when she was eight, she could go and see it. So now we are giving her the promised trip. I have a feeling that the play might be less appropriate for an 8 year old than I remember.

It will be fun to sit by the pool for a few days and just relax. None of the other kids are going with us. Wish Grandma Jane and Best Babysitter Erin good luck with that one. Cubby has been especially awesome (and by awesome I mean evil). Norah has taken to nudity like her older brother and keeping clothing on either of them is a loosing battle. I always swore that when I had kids I wouldn't let them run around with just a diaper on. Now I have TWO that run around with just a diaper on. Apparently you can take the girl out of the condo........

Have a GREAT weekend. Wish us luck in our taxing next few days of swimming, sleeping, watching Arrested Development and not negotiating any kind of squabbling. I also just made plans with the famous Azucar from The Jet Set to have lunch at Mesa Grill. We are both foodies and she is the perfect person to go on an eating tour of Vegas with (or an eating tour of anywhere with, or just to go anywhere with...). More details to follow.....
Heaven.

Oooo....I love the Mesa Grill. Bobby Flay is the best! Have fun. Also, if you have time I highly recommend the Shark Reef at the Mandalay Bay. I take my offspring their regularly.

I think I told Azucar...but if you have time (and a car) you really should try Luv-It's Frozen Custard. It's on the corner of Oakey and Las Vegas Blvd kinda behind a gas station and next to a strip club. It's a one man shop where you just get the goods and go, but it is oh-so-tasty! We're regulars. :)

Safe travels!

Citymamma1--I forgot you are from Vegas? Wanna meet at the Shark Reef??? ;-) Let me know....

Off I go. I am not thrilled about leaving Ace behind. It appears that my heart is not, in fact, made of stone. I usually have NO problem leaving the kids behind. None..... crap. I think I am finally a real mom.

Also, Bobby Flay is my boyfriend.

Sadie was born in Vegas -- I love it there, especially pool side with an ice cold Diet Coke. There is SUCH great shopping there, too! Enjoy!!

Oh. Oh oh ooooooh. You twist my heart. Foodie friends... I'm coveting, big time. Never been to Vegas, but hitting the restaurants is enough to make we want to.

Have fun on your mini vacation.

Let's do it again, and again, and again.

I hope you don't mind that I leave a message on your blog. I am not even sure how I found your site. However, I think your children are beautiful wether perfect or unperfect naughty or sweet. I think sometimes we all have similar feeling, so it is not just you. Though I do not have a child with Downs, I do have a son who is borderline ADD and not on medication and a child who was born with a congenital heart defect. There are some family members of mine (will not name because they read my blog)who think is all my fault and that I am a terriable mom. Even though I just try my best like every other mom. More importantly I am not German which explains everything because if I was German than I would for sure have perfect children who do everything that is asked of them, never get rowdy, never eat candy or watch tv. Then there are others who would love it if I drugged up my oldest child to make their lives easier because when really he is just bored out of his brains at school. Anyway, thanks for letting me vent on your page. I hope you had a really fantastic time in Vegas. Lucky girl! I am jealous! I sitting here in Switzerland while my husband finished up work and it is freezing. Six weeks of straight rain. Also, don't feel guilty about leaving the others behind. Every mom needs to get away once in a while. It is good for everyone.

p.s.s. I am also LDS, I have a summer nannie, I have housekeepers, and we are about to get a gardner. I am not lazy though I think some in our community might think that because I have help. I However, think I am pretty smart for realizing that I am not Wonder Woman and can not do all things. I would rather spend my time with my children than doing yard work or cleaning toilets.
