the irony of the photo is that he spent the previous 10 minutes shoveling sand (yes, with a shovel) into his mouth and didn't appeared to be bother by it at all.
It is impossible not to find him adorable. I get it though... I have issues with sand on Bay Area beaches... can't stand the stuff - not sure if it's just too coarse and with all that bark and other crud in it... but love the smooth sand in hawaii... I know...picky picky.
Jordan hated sand all last summer too!! He will actually walk on it now. He hated the grass too...he was so funny. We went to Mexico last Feb, he did not enjoy, hated the sand, hated the pool...sigh. About the letters, I was just saying to Dave last night that Maddy could barely form a sentence at 2.5 and J knows his LETTERS? He is something else. :)
Sand stuck to the feet is the least of worrisome places (for me)that sand could get to. Having it in the hair/ ears, nose mouth...I remember my first trip to the beach was somewhere not to far from Semi Valley (when I was about 7-8). Any way, when I got back to my uncle's house it took me like half an hour just to get all the sand off me.

I love it, he just looks like he's in absolute pain. . .

Tooooo cute! I have the same look on my face whenever I set foot in sand. Errr...no pun intended. :-)

Ha! I do hate it when sand sticks to your feet when they're wet though.
